Make Smile Shutter is a plug-in for Ricoh Theta V to make children smile and look at the camera using Voice Changer.

How did we solve the problem?
Children can keep a suitable distance and smile while they are listening to the voice changer.
We guess that children can understand it’s not food through Voice Changer.
In addition, adults can keep a suitable distance from the speaker during the conversation so children will also behave in the same way.
This plug-in can make the mood lively so you can capture the genuine emotions of your kids.
We would like to show you the effects of our plug-in.
What is so special about this plug-in compared to others?
Ricoh Theta’s Plug-in can work Independently but its power is not enough to use the latest features in real time.
We solved those impossible wishes using WiFi Direct so we can borrow the power of the smartphone.
Architecture
This architecture is a useful solution if the plug-in wants to use powerful features without a cloud server.
For example: Recording high-quality voice using the Phone’s microphone; Optimizing Photos using Phone’s AI Chip;
Design Consideration
Make Smile Shutter is a voice changer app so we considered a suitable design.

Getting Started
- Install Android™ Studio into your PC.
- Open makesmileshutter as a project into Android™ Studio.
- Please connect SMARTPHONE with USB.
Your smartphone needs to be developed to debug through USB.
- Select “phone app” as a RUN TARGET and build to install it into SMARTPHONE.

Register from here to enable developer mode.

- Select “thetaplugin” as a RUN TARGET and build to install it into RICOH THETA V.
- You can choose two ways to connect thetaplugin and phoneapp via WiFi Direct.

You can see the app screen of thetaplugin using Vysor.
Make Smile Shutter connection flow using Vysor
You can start scaning WiFi Direct enebled devices from Make Smile Shutter plug-in on Vysor and Make Smile Shutter on SMARTPHONE.
You need to peer Ricoh Theta and Smartphone from Make Smile Shutter Plug-in to show WiFi Direct Confirmation Dialog on phoneapp which is only shown for the first time because Theta plug-in app is not allowed to show system’s Dialog.

You can see the app screen of thetaplugin using RICOH THETA OFFICIAL APP’s WEB UI.
Make Smile Shutter connection flow using Ricoh Theta Official App’s Web UI
You have to use Wireless Router Connection to connect between RICOH THETA V and RICOH THETA OFFICIAL APP because Make Smile Shutter Plug-in is using WiFi Direct which requires WiFi Turn ON.*Wireless LAN mode uses Hotspot which can not turn on WiFi at the same time.
You can see the WEB UI of the Theta plugin through RICOH THETA OFFICIAL APP.
You need to peer Ricoh Theta and Smartphone from Make Smile Shutter Plug-in’s WEB UI to show WiFi Direct Confirmation Dialog on the phone app which is only shown for the first time because Theta plug-in app is not allowed to show the system’s Dialog.
